The wager

Here we are: First stop! Walking down from 7 Savile Row to Reform Club, a journey Phileas Fogg would do daily until the life changing bet. While 7 Savile Row house shares little charms of the house described by Jules Verne, the street maintains the quintessential central London feel. Walking down the small alleys, past all the fancy suit shops, stands the grandiose Reform Club. Still a members only club, you can see how Phileas spent his days inside, reading, eating and playing whist. Here we stood, discussing our next steps, the journey ahead, directions, locations, and food we are looking forward to. We are off to pack our bags (no Passepartout to pack for us), not forgetting to turn off the gas of course, and off to the final Sunday roast in a few weeks!

The travellers

Jason and Polina met a few years ago through swing dancing, details are blurry, but the friendship went from strength to strength as they started sharing long walks and cycles over lockdown, and to this day continue to do so. When Jason brought up this idea, Polina couldn’t contain the excitement, so here we are 😀 Over the years, Jason has been on many city breaks to various parts of Europe, from West to East. He even spent 3 months doing the backbackers trip around South East Asia, popping over to New Zealand while he "near by". Jason is a huge fan of most Asian cuisines, but he found a new favourite in Indonesian. Polina has traveled half way across the world in 2019, doing the trip between Mumbai, India and Santiago de Chile in 33 hours. An avid traveller but also a massive foodie. Polina’s favourite food is Thai, but she will happily try everything This unlikely duo will take their friends along for the ride, through recommendations and sharing...

The idea

Since the age of commercial jet airlines in the 60s/70s, our journey around the world can be done in about 60 hours; not quite your 80 days. Hop on a plane to Australia, maybe with a layover in Shanghai, fly over to the US and after that you’re just across the pond before you touch down in Heathrow. But while you’re flying over, how much are you missing?  The ease of travel has not only brought us closer to the world, but the world closer to us. In a metropolitan city such as London, you need to go as far as your front door to hear other languages, experience different cultures, and find something new.  For us, food has always been something we share the love for (strange right?!?). But food is also a great gateway into another culture, as breaking bread with family and friends has history going back to ancient times. Today, having food together is one of the easiest ways to catch up with friends, reminisce about the time when face masks were only worn by doctors, lau...
